hello, my husband and i are taking on the adventure of recording a book on tape.
we have the book, the studio, and people to help with voices. there is a narrator and a ton of characters.
the question is, what is the best order in which to record??? as the book reads?
done voice work for others just not sure how to self produce. any tips or tricks would be helpful
thanks!!

Re: book on tape
Mon, April 21, 2008 - 12:57 AMSince you haven't done any editing or engineering yourself, then it maybe easiest for you to record the book in order.
the thing of it is, that there really is no one single way to approach it. A lot of it will depend on the material itself. Is the narration weaved into the character action? Is it mostly seperate? is it broken into small chapters? Long ones? A non-chapter based format?
I assume you're using some form of DAW (Protools, Adobe Audition, Audigy whatever), so the approach that will work best is going to be the one that makes the most sense to you given the material. Since it's digital, you can record it in any order you want really.
